Erie Railroad Steam Trains: Volume 1

Runtime: 31 minutes 29 seconds.

1. You like stack talk? Two of Erie’s famous S-4 Berkshires slug it out on a manifest freight south of Binghamton, NY, headed towards Susquehanna, PA.

2. The same train as in track 1. In this track, we hear the doubleheaded Berks hustle over the majestic Starrucca Viaduct.

3. In Susquehanna, we hear a drag freight heaving upgrade. This time an N-3 2-8-2 takes the lead, while an R-3 USRA 2-10-2 shoves at the rear.

4. An S-4 backs into Binghamton yard. She pulls a cut of cars forward, backs up again to double the train, then departs west.

5. A B-5 0-6-0 hustles some passenger cars out of the station.

6. An R-3 departs westbound out of Binghamton. The drivers slip a bit as she starts the heavy train.

7. A weary Mikado chugs by with a local freight.

8. Three clips of a big K-5 Pacific shuffling around a terminal. The location is unknown, but it is likely Jersey City. Listen to those air pumps and generator!

9. A Pacific zooms by with a commuter train to close out the album.
